2014 Australian School Library Survey Summary

This year I participated in the Australian School Library Survey  and yesterday the findings were sent to me. At our SLAV meeting last night many of our members were interested in some of the facts I was quoting. “Since commencing the survey in 2010, thousands of Teacher Librarians and school library staff have participated in the survey.  This year we received our largest response for any single year with 1,380 survey submissions from a wide range of public, Catholic and independent primary, secondary and K-12 schools.

Please find attached a summary of report findings provided to participants prior to the release of the full report.The full report is expected to be release in February 2015.

Also please find included a summary of staffing numbers and budget ranges for schools of a similar size to yours. We hope that this information may assist you to advocate the value of your school library and its contribution to your school.
